Fine Tuner review
A versatile tuner for musicians who want detailed pitch and temperament controls.

Fine Tuner is a freemium chromatic tuning app for guitar, bass, violin, viola, cello, double bass, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, harp, and other acoustic instruments. It suits musicians who want more control than a basic chromatic tuner provides, including alternative presets, adjustable reference pitch, multiple visual displays, and tuning by ear with the Circle of Notes. Android, iOS, and Windows versions are listed.
The Free plan includes chromatic tuning, standard and alternative tuning presets, and ads. The Full version adds custom tuning creation and removes ads. Fine Tuner supports automatic, manual, and chromatic modes, so users can choose between guided detection, focused note adjustment, or chromatic operation. Its reference frequency can be adjusted from 400 Hz to 480 Hz, while Equal, Pythagorean, and Meantone temperaments cover different tuning approaches. Microphone gain and deviation tolerance controls provide further adjustment for varied instruments and tuning preferences.
Display and workflow choices are a central strength. Users can select needle, graphical, expanded, or spectrum views, switch between portrait and landscape layouts, and define note frequencies for custom tunings in the Full version. The app also includes notation controls and the Circle of Notes for ear-based tuning. Fine Tuner is a strong fit for players who want broad tuning flexibility across mobile and Windows platforms. It is less suited to buyers looking for AI-based features or an ad-free experience on the Free plan.
