Favicon & App Icon Generator is a browser-based tool from Dan's Tools for turning PNG, JPG, or GIF images into favicon.ico files and app icons. It is suited to website owners, designers, and developers who need basic favicon conversion without installing software. The tool can generate assets for web, Android, Microsoft, and iOS applications, including a 16×16 favicon.ico option. It also supports preserving the original image dimensions and provides an optional public icon gallery submission.
Its main strength is combining conversion and editing in one web workflow. Users can create favicon.ico files from common image formats, choose an output for several application environments, and make manual changes in the online favicon editor. Drawing tools add a practical step for simple corrections or adjustments before download. The free plan includes ICO conversion, favicon generation, app-icon generation, editing, and manual adjustments, making the product a fit for straightforward asset preparation rather than a broader brand-asset pipeline.
The product keeps the final workflow under the user's control: generated favicons are downloaded for use on the user's own website instead of hosted by the service. That makes it appropriate for projects that only need downloadable files and basic editing. Its web-only format may be less suitable for teams seeking an installed application or a wider export workflow. Choose Favicon & App Icon Generator for quick conversion, 16×16 favicon creation, and simple icon editing; choose an alternative if your project depends on a broader set of stated export formats or batch processing.
