A free local matte-generation tool for filmmakers, editors, and visual-effects artists.

EZ-CorridorKey is a free desktop application for filmmakers, visual-effects artists, and editors who need local green- or blue-screen keying without a command-line workflow. It provides a graphical interface for Corridor Digital’s CorridorKey AI chroma keyer, with tools for generating alpha hints, refining foreground mattes, previewing results, and exporting compositing-ready files. Windows, macOS, and Linux are supported, with optional Docker deployment for Linux or remote GPUs.
The pricing model is straightforward: the Free plan costs $0 and includes the desktop GUI, local processing, alpha matte generation, batch processing, and EXR, PNG, ProRes 4444, and VP9-alpha export. Local operation does not require accounts, telemetry, or cloud uploads, which suits projects that should remain on the workstation. Support for MOV, MP4, PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, and EXR inputs adds flexibility for mixed media workflows, while queue-based and folder batch processing can help organize larger jobs.
Its strongest area is matte creation. AI chroma keying supports green and blue screens, while GVM and BiRefNet provide automatic alpha generation. Guided workflows use MatAnyone2 and VideoMaMa, and the built-in chroma keyer and SAM2 tracking add manual control. Despill, despeckle, edge refinement, and a real-time dual source and output viewer round out the workflow. EZ-CorridorKey is a good fit for users who want private, local processing and multiple alpha-capable exports. Choose another tool if your priority is a broader background-editing suite, cloud collaboration, or a paid service with multiple plan levels.
