eXo Platform is an open-source digital workplace and intranet platform for organizations that need centralized employee communication, collaboration and knowledge management. It suits enterprises, public-sector organizations, educational institutions and teams building internal portals or broader digital workplaces. Its feature set spans content publishing, editorial controls, page editing, site building, employee directories, rich profiles, targeted communications, news, polls, posts, comments, reactions and collaborative spaces.

Pricing is organized around Silver, Gold and Platinum plans. Silver includes one collaborative space, core collaboration tools, and a mobile and desktop application. Gold supports up to 30 spaces and adds collaboration and communication tools alongside mobile and desktop access. Platinum includes unlimited spaces and digital workplace features; it is listed at €8 per user per month with annual billing and includes a 14-day free trial. There is no free plan. Organizations comparing tiers should focus first on the number of spaces required and whether broader digital workplace features justify Platinum.

The platform fits organizations with varied deployment and integration needs. It supports web, iOS, Android, API and self-hosted environments, with a branded mobile application and PWA-based desktop access. REST APIs connect with third-party applications, while listed integration areas include directory services, identity providers, external email and calendars, personal storage, document management, document editing and electronic signatures. Configurable permissions, hidden spaces, SSO, LDAP, identity-provider integration and 2FA support controlled internal access. Choose eXo Platform when an organization needs a broad, customizable intranet with open-source and self-hosted options. Teams seeking a small, narrowly focused portal or a free plan should consider alternatives.
