Equal House is a family planning app for households using iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. It brings shared events, dated tasks, chores, routines, meal planning, shopping lists, school-run rotas, child profiles, pocket money, and family document folders into one household workspace. Its strongest fit is families that want to make domestic work visible and distribute it according to effort and availability, rather than relying on a calendar alone. The app also supports on-device reminders and school or club calendar feeds.
Its standout feature is the Fairness Engine. Chores can be weighted by effort and availability, then represented through a Fairness Score, with Auto-Balance available to suggest or apply a more balanced allocation. That focus gives Equal House a clearer purpose than a basic shared calendar. Kid Mode adds child-specific chores, stars, streaks, and pocket money, while meal planning connects shared cooking tasks with aisle-by-aisle shopping lists. Magic Add can suggest events and jobs from pasted text or photos, and family document folders include expiry reminders.
The Free plan includes the Fairness Engine, shared calendar, tasks and chores, meal plans, Kid Mode, and pocket money. Pro costs £2.99 per month or £29.90 per year and adds unlimited planning, calendar sync, email forwarding, Safe Space, the Bric assistant, and extended-family planning. Calendar synchronization supports Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar, while an optional AI assistant connector supports Claude and other AI assistants. Equal House suits families prioritising equitable workloads and coordinated household planning. Families needing location sharing, broader platform coverage, or a free Pro trial should consider a different fit.
