Enkava is a browser-based drawing and animation editor for 2D artists who want raster, vector, pixel-art, and animation tools in one workspace. Its free editor supports pixel and freeform painting, layers, editable vector paths, and frame animation with onion skinning and playback. Artists can work without an account and save projects on their device, making the free plan a practical starting point for solo work that does not require cloud access.

The feature set reaches beyond static illustration: pressure-sensitive brush strokes, layer groups, blend modes, paintable masks, and imported PNG brushes support varied drawing workflows. Animation tools include frames, onion skinning, a dope sheet, and bone rigs with inverse kinematics and mesh deformation. Enkava can import Photoshop, Procreate, Aseprite, and SVG files, and export PNG, GIF, APNG, video, SVG, PDF, and project files. That breadth may suit artists moving between illustration, pixel art, and simple animation; those needing an installed desktop or mobile editor should look elsewhere, since the currently offered editor runs in a browser.

The free plan includes the full browser editor, pixel and freeform painting, and on-device project saves. Enkava Pro costs $2.99 per month or $24.99 per year, according to the vendor’s pricing page. Both memberships add unlimited cloud projects, 10 GB of cloud storage, and cross-device syncing while retaining the free editor’s features. Choose Pro if cloud access and syncing matter to your workflow; stick with the free plan if device-local saving is enough. Enkava is aimed at solo and small-scale use, with email and community support channels.
