Emson review
A free shared inbox and case-tracking option for small teams with workflow needs.

Emson brings customer conversations and support cases into a shared inbox, with tools for tracking complaints, incidents, enquiries and support requests. It is aimed at small and mid-sized teams that need assignments, internal collaboration and response targets without starting with a paid plan. The free tier supports one shared inbox and one configurable case type, and the product is delivered through the web. Teams handling support mainly through email and an embedded website contact form may find its case-management focus a better fit than tools centered on live chat or self-service content.
Case workflows are a notable strength. Teams can add custom fields, assign actions, leave internal notes, and set response and resolution targets; automated acknowledgements and resolution replies can help keep cases moving. Emson also includes complaint cost recording, risk scoring and root-cause analysis, which may be useful when support teams need to examine complaint patterns, not just answer individual requests. AI features cover case summaries, sentiment analysis and response drafting. On the free plan, AI is described as AI-ready and requires the team’s own API key; the Professional plan includes AI features subject to usage limits.
The published plans distinguish capacity and service levels: Free has one inbox and one case type; Professional has two of each, advanced case analytics, custom fields and workflows, and priority support; Enterprise adds unlimited inboxes and case types, custom integrations and sender domains, onboarding and training, and a dedicated account manager. The free tier is a practical starting point for basic case tracking, but its limits and lack of a knowledge base or live chat make it less suitable for teams that need broader customer-facing channels or self-service. Teams needing more capacity or analytics can consider the paid tiers, while those prioritizing live chat or a knowledge base should look elsewhere.
