Electric Image Animation System (EIAS) is desktop 3D animation and rendering software for artists, architects, designers and professional studios. It covers character animation and inverse kinematics alongside motion graphics, architectural visualization, product and industrial visualization, and visual effects. The feature set makes it a fit for 3D animators who need character tools and network rendering, rather than buyers seeking a free entry point or a narrowly focused motion-graphics tool.
Its animation workflow includes function curves for object attributes, imports for FBX, OBM and BVH animation, and motion-tracking data from SynthEyes, PFTrack, Boujou and MatchMover. Character animation, inverse kinematics, animatable deformations, morph editing and constraints give animators several ways to shape movement. Rendering includes ray tracing, global illumination and motion blur; output options include layered PSD and RPF files. The ability to render across an unlimited number of computers at no additional cost is a notable fit for studios distributing render work. Photoshop, After Effects and Combustion are also listed among its integrations.
According to the vendor's pricing page, EIAS 9 - Download costs $895 one-time; the page describes it as download only and a Windows Universal Binary. Upgrades are listed at $395 from EIAS 8.0 and $495 from EIAS 1.0–7.0, also one-time, with a Windows Universal Binary. The overview documents Mac and PC availability, so buyers should distinguish that broader platform description from the Windows download listing. EIAS is a stronger candidate for teams that can justify an upfront purchase and need its specific 3D and rendering breadth. Those wanting a free plan or a clearly listed Mac download should look elsewhere. Support channels listed are documentation and community.
