EdSkout is a web-based daycare management platform for childcare centers, preschools, and operators with multiple branches. It brings together child profiles, attendance, fee structures, invoicing, payment tracking, staff records, family communication, meal and medication information, activity planning, and reporting. Its child records can include allergies, medical notes, emergency contacts, and care instructions. The product is particularly suited to new centers that want one structured system for daily administration, parent updates, and operational records.

The plan structure moves from basic daily management to broader financial and reporting tools. The Trial plan provides 20 days of access with kids management, attendance tracking, activities management, notifications, and food menu and schedule management. Essential adds activity photo uploads, parent notifications, fee structure management, and staff management. Premium includes the Essential features plus custom branding, chatbot assistance, expense management, advanced reports and insights, and online payment collection. The published pricing uses custom billing and shows a listed starting price of 23.99, with monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly selectors. There is no free plan.

Operational breadth is EdSkout’s main strength. Staff can record attendance manually or through QR-code scanning, while families can receive messages, updates, photos, and videos through the parent portal. The system also covers meals, naps, medication, dietary information, developmental progress, staff roles and permissions, and consolidated reporting across branches. It fits centers that need more than attendance alone, especially those planning to add billing, family communication, and multi-branch oversight. Centers that depend on a native mobile app, established integrations, or a narrow low-cost attendance tool should consider alternatives.

EdSkout pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Covers child records, attendance, billing, meals, activities, and family updates
    • Supports QR-code or manual check-in/check-out with attendance records
    • Premium adds online payments, advanced reports, and multi-branch management
  • Where it doesn't
    • Web access only, with no listed native mobile platform
    • No verified integrations are presented
    • Paid plans have custom billing rather than transparent plan-by-plan prices
