EasyProf is desktop software for creating interactive e-learning courses, aimed at HR managers, teachers, trainers and subject-matter experts. Its WYSIWYG editor supports multimedia and page interactions, plus activities ranging from true/false and multiple choice to short-answer and drag-and-drop. Courses can be made responsive, uploaded to an LMS and tracked through SCORM. It fits authors who want to build course content on Windows or macOS; teams looking for a browser-based authoring workflow should consider another tool.

The license options differ in publishing and payment model. EasyProf 5 is a perpetual full license priced at €1,490 one time, and includes one year of technical support and version upgrades. EasyProf 5 Lite is €275 one time, but provides edition and preview functionality only: it cannot publish courses and must be associated with a Full license. EasyProf 5 SaaS is an annual rental that includes technical support and updates. A 30-day trial is offered, while there is no free plan. Buyers should compare Lite's restrictions with the full license before treating its lower price as an authoring solution on its own.

Interactive video and activity variety are the standout capabilities. Authors can trigger actions at points on a video's timeline, mix video, audio, images, HTML files, animations and links, and create interactions among elements on a page. Separate EasyProf Translator, PDF publishing and math-formula add-ons extend the workflow, though translation is handled with a separate tool. SCORM tracking makes it relevant when learner progress needs to pass through that standard. Choose EasyProf for desktop course creation with varied activities and SCORM-based progress tracking; it is less suitable if publishing from Lite is sufficient, or if browser authoring is a requirement.

EasyProf pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Build quizzes and drag-and-drop activities in a WYSIWYG editor.
    • Add video interactions that trigger actions along the timeline.
    • Create responsive courses and track learner progress through SCORM.
  • Where it doesn't
    • The €275 Lite license cannot publish courses and requires a Full license.
    • The full EasyProf 5 license costs €1,490 one time.
    • It is desktop software for Windows and macOS, not a web authoring tool.
