Discover Childcare is a cloud-based administration platform from Xplor Technologies for New Zealand early learning services. It brings online enquiries and enrolments, digital attendance and booking management, electronic attendance verification, invoicing, family payments, staff rostering, waitlists, communication and reporting into one system. Centres can also add website widgets for enquiries and enrolments. The platform works across computers, tablets and mobile devices, while its wider ecosystem includes Playground for educators, Home for families and Xplor Pay for payments.
The published Discover SMS plan includes online enrolment and enquiry forms, digital attendance and booking management, automated invoicing, family payments with Xplor Pay, staff rostering and management, and bulk communications. Its feature coverage extends to certification management, occupancy management, customisable child, finance and group reporting, plus bulk SMS, email, app notifications and in-app messaging. That breadth suits centres looking to connect operational administration with family communication rather than adopt a narrow attendance or billing tool.
Ecosystem fit is a central consideration. Discover Childcare integrates with Xero, Xero Payroll, Safety Nest, 1Place Childcare, Xplor Pay, Home and Playground, making it a natural choice for centres using related Xplor services and connected accounting or childcare tools. According to the vendor's pricing page, Discover SMS starts at NZD 282 per month excluding GST. The product is therefore better suited to centres that need a wide operational system and can justify a paid subscription than to smaller services seeking a free or narrowly focused tool. Centres outside New Zealand or those without a need for Xplor-linked workflows may prefer a platform with a different regional or ecosystem focus.
