Dictanote review
Affordable dictation and note-taking across desktop and mobile platforms.

Dictanote combines cloud-synced note-taking with built-in speech-to-text dictation. It is suited to people who want to create, format, organize and revise notes by voice across desktop and mobile platforms. Dictation supports more than 50 languages, while voice commands handle punctuation, editing and navigation. Notes can be accessed and edited offline, but dictation itself requires an internet connection. Audio-file transcription is also included among its core features.
The freemium structure makes Dictanote approachable for basic dictation. The Free plan includes dictation in 50+ languages, unlimited notes, basic voice commands, and data security and privacy. The Pro plan costs $8 per month when billed annually and adds unlimited notebooks, background dictation, custom voice commands, voice-based editing, images in notes, and 1 GB of cloud storage. That split keeps the main note-and-dictation workflow available without payment while reserving more advanced voice control and storage features for subscribers.
Platform coverage is a central strength: Dictanote supports web access and standalone options across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, with browser support for Chrome, Edge and Safari. Its rich-text editor, automatic saving and cloud synchronization make it more suitable for ongoing note organization than a dictation-only utility. The main boundary is connectivity, since offline editing does not extend to dictation. Choose Dictanote if you want affordable voice-enabled notes across multiple devices; consider another option if offline dictation is essential or if 1 GB of Pro cloud storage does not fit your needs.
