Deepgram Speech-to-Text converts live streams and pre-recorded audio into transcripts through an API. It is aimed at developers building conversational AI, contact center, healthcare, media transcription, speech analytics, and other applications that need production speech recognition. REST, WebSocket, and official SDK access support different application architectures, while self-hosted availability adds deployment flexibility.
Pricing is usage-based. The Pay As You Go plan has no minimums and lists Nova-3 pre-recorded transcription at $0.0043 per minute, while Nova-3 monolingual streaming is listed at the regular price of $0.0077 per minute. The Growth plan uses pre-paid credits for the year, redeemed against actual usage, with rates of $0.0036 per minute for pre-recorded transcription and $0.0065 per minute for monolingual streaming. Enterprise is intended for large volumes, data or deployment requirements, or support needs, with pricing available through sales.
Its feature set goes beyond basic transcript generation. Real-time transcription runs over WebSocket, and the platform also provides speaker labels, multilingual transcription, punctuation, capitalization, paragraphing, keyterm prompting, PII redaction, and industry-tuned or custom models. Integrations include Amazon AWS, Twilio, Vercel, Vonage, Genesys, Five9, Daily, AudioCodes, Cognigy, and Kore.ai. Choose Deepgram when your application needs both streaming and recorded audio workflows with transcription controls; consider an alternative if you need a continuing free plan or prefer fixed subscription pricing.
