Deckset review
A focused Markdown-to-deck tool for Apple users who value speed over PowerPoint compatibility.

Deckset turns Markdown or plain-text notes into formatted presentations on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It is aimed at content-focused presentations such as technical talks, lessons, pitches, and team updates, especially for Mac users who prefer writing in Markdown rather than arranging slides manually. Automatic layouts, typography, themes, and styling keep the authoring model focused on content while still supporting images, video, tables, columns, code, mathematics, and diagrams. Built-in and custom themes provide control over the visual treatment.
Pricing is straightforward and paid upfront. The Individual plan costs $35 USD one time and includes a native Mac app, activation on up to four personal devices, and free Deckset 2.x updates. The Team of five plan costs $140 USD one time and includes five licenses, one for each team member, plus free Deckset 2.x updates. A 7-day free trial is available. iOS pricing is region-specific and purchased separately through the App Store, so the Mac purchase and mobile access are separate considerations.
Deckset’s strongest fit is for presenters who want a compact authoring workflow with useful delivery tools. Presenter notes, next-slide preview, rehearsal mode, timers, builds, transitions, and windowed presentation mode cover important presentation scenarios, while PDF export can include optional presenter notes. The AI Slide Builder Skill supports compatible agents. The trade-off is a narrow ecosystem: Deckset is limited to Apple platforms, has no integrations, and does not export natively to PowerPoint. Choose it for Markdown-led, Apple-based presentation work; choose another presentation tool if PowerPoint compatibility, integrations, or broader platform coverage is required.
