Daz 3D combines a marketplace for customizable 3D characters with free creation software for digital artists, illustrators, animators, video creators, and game developers. Its catalog covers clothing and accessories, hair, environments, props, poses, animations, tools, and effects. Daz Studio supports rigging, posing, morphs, smart content workflows, scene creation, animation, image and video rendering, and exporting through bridges to other applications.

The free Daz Base plan includes Daz Studio, Starter Essentials content, free monthly Legacy content, and cross-platform exporters. Daz+ costs $69 per year or $8.99 per month and adds member pricing on Daz+ items, 30% off Daz Originals, and weekly and monthly member content. Daz Premier costs $199 per year or $18.98 per month, adding Daz Studio Premier, 35% off Daz Originals, a monthly character bundle coupon, and Premier-only content. Free items are added weekly, giving occasional users a way to expand their library without immediately choosing a paid tier.

Daz 3D fits workflows that move between Daz Studio and established content-creation or game-development tools. Bridges connect with Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Unreal, and Unity, while the Daz Studio scripting API supports scripted workflows. The product is strongest when customizable characters, clothing, hair, poses, and animations are central to the project. It is a less direct choice for buyers seeking a broad, neutral asset library without a character-led focus, or for teams requiring uniform rights across every asset. Commercial use is supported for derived 2D renders and animations, but product-specific restrictions, editorial licenses, interactive licenses, and 3D-print rights can differ.
