Dacast is an online video platform for businesses, event producers, media organizations, educators, governments, and professional broadcasters. It combines live streaming, video-on-demand hosting, branded OTT galleries, embeddable HTML5 playback, analytics, security controls, and monetization. Distribution supports web, iOS, Android, and API-based experiences, with options for subscriptions, pay-per-view, paywalls, and advertising. It is suited to organizations building paid or branded video services rather than casual creators looking for a free host.

The published annual-billing plans are structured around different usage and event needs. Starter costs $39 per month and includes 2.4 TB bandwidth per year, 500 GB storage, live streaming and VOD hosting, unlimited concurrent viewers, advanced analytics, and domain and country restrictions. Event costs $63 per month, includes 6 TB bandwidth upfront and 250 GB storage, and adds a paywall, pre-, mid-, and post-roll advertising, live stream monitoring, and video availability scheduling. Scale costs $165 per month with 24 TB bandwidth per year, 2,000 GB storage, DRM and AES for VOD, unlimited channels, advanced library management, and a player CNAME. Custom covers high-volume plans, custom SLAs, migrations and integrations, and large-scale events. A 14-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan.

Platform fit is a notable part of the offering. Dacast supports RTMP and HLS ingest, RESTful video and player APIs, bulk uploads from AWS S3 and Google Drive, and integrations with OBS Studio, Wirecast, vMix, StreamYard, Google Analytics, SRT, AWS S3, and Google Drive. Security controls include password, domain, geographic, token, AES, and DRM options. Choose Dacast for branded OTT delivery, live events, paid access, or larger video libraries. A free-first service or a plan without annual billing would be a better match for smaller or less committed projects.
