Commix is a web-based comic and cartoon creation platform for writers, content creators, educators, and game designers. Its workspace combines drag-and-drop panel layouts, speech and thought bubbles, reusable characters, chapter organization, effects, animation, and voice-over features. It also supports comic strips, narrator stories, sketches, card decks, and playable games, making it suited to creators who want to develop and publish more than static comic pages.
Pricing scales by publishing scope and AI allowances. The Strip plan costs $5 per month and includes comic strips, 70 strip images per month, multi-page strip stories, a mobile vertical 9:16 format, and an AI strip creator wizard. Pro costs $25 per month and adds up to 50 comic books, 200 AI generations, up to 500 text generations, an advanced editor, custom layouts, and PDF export. Master costs $49 per month, raising the limits to 75 comic books, 400 AI generations, and up to 1,000 text generations. Jumbo costs $150 per month and supports up to 200 comic books, 1,200 AI generations, and up to 3,500 text generations.
The strongest fit is for creators focused on animated or social-first publishing. Commix supports pan and zoom, panel animations, speech-bubble voice-overs with multiple voices and emotions, and PDF, HTML, and MP4 export. Publishing to the Commix Feed and integrations with TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts extend its distribution options. The trade-off is that it runs on the web, has no free plan, and the entry tier is restricted to comic strips. Choose Commix for an integrated creation-to-publishing workflow; choose another tool if you need a free option or a non-web application.
