CodeCogs Equation Editor is a browser-based workspace for composing mathematical equations visually or through LaTeX. The rendered equation and its LaTeX markup stay synchronized, while toolbar panels cover symbols, operators, and matrices. Autocomplete suggestions, keyboard navigation in the matrix builder, and table copying from Excel or Word support authors, educators, and organizations that need equation authoring in web content. It can run as a standalone editor or be embedded into a website.

The published plans start with a free Community tier allowing 1,000 equations per day, API integration, and a single domain. A 30-day trial is available without a card. Professional raises capacity to 5,000+ equations per day and adds a 99.98% uptime SLA, email support, and multiple-domain availability. Enterprise supports unlimited equations, premium support, and either a Docker self-hosted deployment or a cloud solution; the cloud solution includes the same 99.98% uptime SLA. These options span solo projects through enterprise deployments, with higher tiers adding capacity, support, domain flexibility, and deployment control.

Platform fit is a central strength. The API embeds the editor into websites, and plugins are available for CKEditor and TinyMCE; Microsoft Excel integration supports table copying. Equations can be copied or downloaded as LaTeX, MathML, SVG, or PNG, giving downstream content systems several format choices. The scope is deliberately equation-focused rather than a broad authoring suite: there is no OCR-to-equation, handwriting input, office add-in, open-source edition, or AI feature. Choose CodeCogs when a web editor, synchronized LaTeX workflow, and flexible deployment matter; consider another option if handwritten or image-based conversion is essential.
