A feature-rich drawing suite for artists who need comic, animation, and 3D reference tools.

Clip Studio Paint is digital art software for illustrators, comic and manga artists, concept artists, designers, and animators. Its toolset combines raster and vector drawing, customizable brushes, editable vector linework, layers, masks, effects, tonal correction, 3D references, perspective rulers, comic lettering, and animation timelines. The broad feature set suits creators who want one environment for finished illustrations, sequential pages, and 2D animation rather than a narrowly focused sketching app.
Pricing is available through subscription plans and perpetual licenses. The PRO annual/monthly plan starts at $0.99 per month and is aimed at concept artists, illustrators, and designers; it includes new features, bonus materials, and 10GB of cloud storage. EX adds multi-page management and full-length 2D animation features for comic artists, manga artists, and animators. The PRO and EX Version 5.0 perpetual licenses are for Windows and macOS, with an Update Pass available separately. The subscription plans cover iPad, Android, Windows, macOS, and iPhone, while the advertised starting price applies to PRO.
For comic production, Clip Studio Paint goes beyond drawing with paneling, speech balloons, text, tones, multi-page projects, and teamwork for collaborative page editing. Animation tools include an animation timeline, onion skin, audio import and export, and camera effects. Cloud backup and synchronization extend to projects, materials, and settings, and the asset library adds reusable creative resources. Adobe products are listed as integrations. Choose Clip Studio Paint if comics, illustration, animation, or reference-assisted drawing are central to your work. Consider another tool if you require a free plan, a perpetual license on mobile devices, or a wider integration ecosystem.
