ClassPoll is a free, open-source web application for instructors who need live classroom polling. Students join from a browser using a self-reported name, without creating an account or installing an app. Instructors can create multiple-choice polls, organize them into sets, launch them sequentially, control result and correct-answer visibility, and run timed questions with configurable durations. Attendance and poll history are available, with CSV export for results.

Deployment is the main operational consideration. Each instructor deploys an instance and configures a Firebase Realtime Database project; the application can be published through GitHub Pages. That self-hosted model gives instructors control over where the application runs, but it also makes setup part of adopting the product. Password protection is available for instructor and history access, and polls can be created in bulk using plain text, which may reduce preparation work for repeated sessions.

ClassPoll keeps its scope narrow: live, basic multiple-choice interaction rather than a broad assessment or classroom platform. Its useful coverage includes timed polls, quiz mode, attendance, history, result controls, and CSV exports, but the published category details show basic question types, no LMS integration, and no anonymous responses. Instructors who want a free polling tool they can deploy themselves should consider ClassPoll. Those needing richer question formats, LMS connectivity, or anonymous participation should choose an alternative with those capabilities.
