Cheetah3D is a desktop 3D graphics application for macOS, aimed at artists creating visualizations, game assets, animations, and models for 3D printing. It combines polygon, subdivision, spline, and parametric modeling with UV unwrapping, texture painting, basic sculpting, character rigging, animation, dynamics, scripting, and rendering in one application. Its single-platform focus makes it most relevant to Mac users who want one tool for several stages of 3D work rather than a narrowly focused modeling or rendering application.

Cheetah3D 8.x costs $79 as a one-time purchase and includes a single-user license. The Cheetah3D 8.x Upgrade costs $39 as a one-time purchase for upgrades from an older version. There is no free plan. The standout feature set is the integrated ray-traced renderer with node-based materials, supported by polygon, subdivision, spline, and parametric modeling, plus keyframe and joint-based animation. Forward and inverse kinematics, weight painting, rigid-body and soft-body dynamics, rope and particle dynamics, and JavaScript scripting extend its scope beyond basic asset creation.

Its file-format coverage supports exchange through FBX, OBJ, STL, glTF, and USDZ, while the built-in renderer and scripting tools keep much of the workflow inside the application. However, Cheetah3D runs only on macOS and does not provide broader integrations. Choose it if you want a one-time-priced Mac application covering modeling, rendering, animation, dynamics, and 3D-print export. Choose another option if cross-platform access or a wider connected ecosystem is more important than having these capabilities in one desktop tool.
