Cask Studio is a native macOS video editor for developing, generating, assembling, refining, and exporting films in one application. It is aimed at solo creators, studios, agencies, and larger production teams, with a particularly strong fit for Mac creators building AI-generated projects. The workflow pairs an infinite-canvas Storyboard for references, notes, footage, and generated assets with a multitrack Montage timeline for video, dialogue, music, and sound effects. Clip timing tools cover trim, split, speed, and transitions, while picture, motion, and sound modifiers include LUTs, curves, film grain, blur, EQ, and FPS conform.

The plan structure separates core editing from built-in generation. Free includes the full Storyboard and Montage, preview and export, and Cask MCP, but excludes AI generation. Starter costs €29.99 per month and adds 2,500 credits, two concurrent generations, all models, and 100 GB of cloud storage. Hobbyist costs €74.99 per month with 6,500 credits, five concurrent generations, all models, and 250 GB of cloud storage. Creator costs €149.99 per month with 14,000 credits, 10 concurrent generations, all models, and 500 GB of cloud storage. Studio provides custom limits, team and billing support, and a workflow fit review. According to the vendor's published terms, the product is in early access, with seats opening in batches, and displayed plans, credits, and prices are indicative until checkout.

Cask Studio's standout strength is how generation and editing are connected inside the same project. Paid plans support video, image, voice, music, and sound-effects generation, with integrations including Claude, Codex, Cask MCP, Seedance, Kling, Veo, Runway, Gemini, GPT, Lyria, and ElevenLabs Music. MCP-based agentic editing is available on every plan, while local-first project and footage storage keeps the Mac central to the workflow. Choose Cask Studio if you want AI-assisted production alongside storyboard and timeline editing. Choose another option if you need web or mobile access, or if AI generation must be included without a paid plan.
