CapturyLive review
A Linux-focused capture system for specialized real-time production pipelines.

CapturyLive is a turnkey hardware and software system for real-time, markerless motion capture. It processes synchronized camera feeds into 3D motion data for one or multiple performers, making it suited to game development, VFX, film, advertising, virtual reality, live entertainment, sports and life-sciences work. Full-body tracking is central, with finger tracking available as an add-on and facial tracking supported through CapturyFace integration.
Its strongest fit is a specialized production pipeline that needs live output and broad motion-data handling. CapturyLive can stream in real time to Unreal Engine, Unity, MotionBuilder and other protocols, including OSC, VRPN, ROS and OSVR. It also supports camera calibration and actor model calibration, motion and video recording, and exports to FBX, BVH, C3D and CSV. Motion-data charts and kinematic analysis add value for teams that need to inspect movement rather than only drive a character on screen.
The main trade-off is accessibility. CapturyLive is positioned for Linux/Ubuntu and API-based workflows, so teams centered on other desktop platforms may find the fit less direct. Pricing follows a contact-sales model, which suits organizations evaluating a specialized production system but gives value-focused buyers less immediate plan-by-plan comparison. Choose CapturyLive when Linux support, real-time streaming, multi-performer capture and analysis are priorities. Consider an alternative if you need a simpler platform footprint, a lower-complexity setup or readily comparable subscription tiers.
