Callipeg is a 2D animation application for hand-drawn, frame-by-frame work and keyframe-based motion. It is aimed at beginners, professional animators, illustrators, and studios that need drawing, timeline, layer, audio, video, and export tools across iPhone, iPad, Android tablets, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Its hybrid workflow supports both pixel-based drawing and motion built with layer parenting, curves, tangents, and pivot points.
Pricing is divided by platform and edition. Callipeg mini costs $5 as a one-time purchase for the iPhone edition. Callipeg costs $15 as a one-time purchase for iPad and includes frame-by-frame and keyframe animation. Callipeg Studio costs $30 as a one-time purchase for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with desktop animation workflows. There is no free plan. The platform-specific structure keeps the entry price low, but buyers need to select the edition that matches their device and workflow.
For production fit, Callipeg includes onion skinning with up to eight sheets before and after the current frame, customizable brushes, selection and fill tools, drawing, video, audio, transformation, and group layers, plus timeline, shot, scene, and folder management. Imports include images, videos, image sequences, JSON, XDTS, audio, brushes, and palettes; exports include PEG, MP4, HEVC, GIF, PNG, TGA, JSON, OCA, and XDTS. Integrations with TVPaint Animation, Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe After Effects, Blender, CLIP STUDIO PAINT, and OpenToonz make it a practical choice for hybrid workflows. Choose Callipeg for affordable cross-device animation and format flexibility; choose an alternative if you require a free plan or a single edition across platforms.
