Cacher is a code snippet organizer for developers and teams. It stores snippets online and provides access through web, macOS, Windows, Linux, browser extensions, editor plugins, the Cacher CLI, and Raycast. Users can apply color-coded labels, write Markdown documentation with live preview, synchronize GitHub Gists, and create shared libraries. The free plan includes 15 private snippets, three private labels, unlimited public snippets, 10 MB attachments, browser access, and GitHub Gist sync. A 14-day free trial is also available.
Pricing is structured around individual and team use. The Free plan suits personal collections with a limited private library. According to the vendor's pricing page, the Expert plan is $9.99 per month when billed annually and adds unlimited private snippets and labels, 50 MB attachments, plus VS Code and IntelliJ plugins. The Teams plan is $29.99 per month for the first five seats when billed annually. It adds unlimited private snippets and labels, shared team libraries, code reviews, role management, and centralized billing. Team-oriented plans also show Enterprise SSO, while optional self-hosting is available for organizations.
Cacher's strongest fit is for developers who want one snippet workflow across devices and development tools. Two-way GitHub Gist synchronization, Chrome and Firefox extensions, Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ integrations, Slack snippet creation and notifications, and version history with diffs and restoration extend the product beyond a basic notes library. Local snippet code execution adds another developer-focused capability. Choose Cacher when cross-device access, editor integrations, and collaboration matter; choose an alternative if a small personal library needs no paid private-snippet capacity or team workflow.
