CACANi is Windows-based 2D animation software for hand-drawn animators, animation studios, schools, and independent artists. Its frame-by-frame workflow centers on generating inbetween drawings from keyframes, then refining timing, spacing, painting, and cleanup. Vector and raster drawing, pressure-sensitive strokes, onion skin, offpeg adjustments, multiple layer types, camera controls, and export settings cover a traditional cel-animation process. It is best suited to teams and individuals who want assisted inbetweening without moving away from hand-drawn production.
The strongest part of CACANi is its focused animation workflow. Quick Flip preview and timing and spacing controls help shape motion between keyframes, while cleanup features include gap-closing, stroke cling, and occlusion tools. Assisted painting and automatic frame coloring support the next production steps. The software also handles raster, video, image, and audio layers, and exports to image sequences, GIF, AVI, MP4, MOV, and Adobe After Effects. That combination makes it more than a drawing application, although its ecosystem fit is centered on Windows and After Effects rather than broad platform coverage.
CACANi offers a 365-day time-based subscription, a perpetual license, and a Teams time-based subscription priced at $399 per year, with deployment to multiple machines through one product key. The free trial does not expire, but saving is disabled and exports are restricted and watermarked. Choose CACANi if automatic inbetween generation, hand-drawn cleanup, and After Effects export match your workflow. Look elsewhere if you need macOS support, rigging features, or a free plan for ongoing production.
