BT Email is a personal email service for existing BT customers and people retaining BT email addresses. It provides BT-branded addresses ending in btinternet.com, btopenworld.com or talk21.com, with webmail access and official iOS and Android apps for eligible accounts. Its audience is primarily solo users and small households who want a supported ISP email service rather than a custom-domain mailbox.

The published plans divide access by account type. Basic is free and includes web-only access, virus, spam and phishing protection, and UK-based technical support. Standard adds up to 11 email addresses while retaining the same protection and support highlights. Premium costs £7.50 per month, billed monthly, and includes the same listed protection, support and allowance as Standard. The paid options therefore fit users who need multiple addresses or a paid BT email tier, while Basic suits users who only need browser access.

BT Email covers the main access and account-management basics: web, iOS and Android access, IMAP, POP3 and SMTP with SSL/TLS, filters, blocked and safe senders, and automatic forwarding. Basic's web-only restriction matters for anyone expecting mobile-app access, while eligible accounts can use the official mobile apps. The service also does not support custom domains, and new BT Email addresses cannot be created by people who do not already have one. Choose BT Email when BT account continuity, ISP support and familiar email controls are priorities; choose another service if custom domains or broader mailbox flexibility are central requirements.
