Bridgefy review
A mobile-only option for messaging nearby people when internet access is unavailable.

Bridgefy is a mobile messaging app for communication when conventional internet access is unavailable. It uses Bluetooth-based mesh networking so messages can move between nearby devices, potentially extending communication beyond direct device range. The app supports public broadcast chat, private one-to-one chats, encrypted direct messages, voice messages, and location sharing. It is aimed at events, travel, emergencies, and other situations where nearby users need to communicate without an active internet connection. Bridgefy runs on iOS and Android and does not include AI features.
The Free plan covers the core offline use case with offline messaging, public chat, and private chats. Bridgefy also lists Remove Ads, Bridgefy Plus, and Lifetime Subscription options. Remove Ads removes advertisements, while Bridgefy Plus provides paid app features and Lifetime Subscription provides lifetime access. According to the published product details, Bridgefy uses a freemium model and has a starting price of 0.99. The two Bridgefy Plus entries use the same plan name, so buyers should review the current in-app purchase terms before choosing between paid options.
Bridgefy’s main strength is its narrow focus on nearby, internet-free communication rather than broad online messaging. Direct messages are encrypted according to Bridgefy’s documentation, while public broadcast chat serves wider local communication. Users must initially open the app with internet access, after which messaging can work offline. That setup requirement matters in emergencies: installation and initial access should happen before connectivity is lost. Choose Bridgefy if offline Bluetooth messaging, local broadcasts, and private nearby conversations are the priority. Choose another messaging app if you need desktop access, internet-based communication, or a broader platform ecosystem.
