For English and German speakers, Bol is an iPhone app for studying Hindi, Urdu, Persian, and Arabic. It presents phrases in Latin letters with meanings and audio, so learners can begin without learning Devanagari. The courses cover foundations up to B1 and include more than 280 lessons and 2,000+ phrases across the four languages. Its mobile format suits solo learners who want guided practice and review rather than a course centered on a new writing system.

The learning mix is broader than phrase memorization: real-life conversation lessons sit alongside speaking practice with word-by-word pronunciation feedback, vocabulary tests, flashcards, a review system, and basic grammar and sentence-pattern drills. Audio can be played at normal or slower speed, which supports listening and pronunciation practice. Course content and audio work offline, a useful fit for learners who want to study without a continuous connection. Speech recognition may rely on Apple’s service, however, so that practice can have a different dependency from the downloaded course material.

Bol has a Free option with initial sections and no subscription; Full access is a one-time purchase that unlocks all four languages and courses. The English homepage lists $9.99 one-time after a limited launch price, while the US App Store listing and support page show different prices. That pricing structure may appeal to someone who wants to explore before paying and prefers a single purchase to a subscription. Choose Bol if Latin-letter presentation, offline lessons, and a combination of conversation, speaking, and review matter most. It is a weaker fit for Android learners or anyone specifically seeking Devanagari instruction.
