BeatDock is an open-source Discord music bot for server owners who want to deploy and manage playback themselves. Docker deployment and configurable commands suit technically comfortable solo operators and small communities that prefer control over a hosted bot. Its feature set centers on music playback and server-side controls rather than a broader Discord management suite.

Playback covers YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Twitch and Vimeo, with queue controls for shuffle, loop and play-next, plus autoplay for related tracks. Interactive search lets members select tracks, while slash commands also cover lyrics, volume and audio effects. Spotify track and playlist search is available with optional configuration, and results are resolved through YouTube. That source mix and control depth are useful for servers that want more than basic play and skip commands, though Spotify is not a standalone playback source here.

The self-hosted model gives administrators a choice of connecting to their own Lavalink server or using a public Lavalink node fallback; it also means deployment and ongoing administration sit with the server owner. Role-based access can limit who controls playback, and language selection is configurable. BeatDock is described as free and open source, with documentation and community support. Choose it if Docker-based deployment, configurable controls and multiple sources matter more than managed hosting. A server owner seeking a bot that handles infrastructure for them should look elsewhere.
