AWS Skill Builder is AWS’s online training platform for people learning AWS cloud and AI technologies. It serves individual learners preparing for AWS certifications, professionals building role-based cloud skills, and organizations coordinating workforce training. The free tier includes self-paced digital courses and other learning resources, while the platform also offers structured learning plans, AWS Builder Labs, immersive environments, Cloud Quest practice, skills profiles, badges, and microcredentials.
Its strongest differentiator is the range of AWS-specific certification and practical learning content in one web platform. Individual monthly subscriptions add the full suite of exam preparation resources and immersive learning experiences. Individual annual subscriptions include everything in the monthly subscription plus Digital Classroom courses with instructor-delivered videos. Learners can also access official practice question sets, pretests, and practice exams, giving certification candidates several preparation formats alongside self-paced study.
For teams, the Team subscription shifts the emphasis from individual study to administration and visibility. It provides workforce learning at scale, progress tracking and reporting, and a centralized training dashboard. That makes AWS Skill Builder a natural choice for organizations standardizing AWS training and monitoring learner progress. Its narrow provider focus is also its main boundary: teams seeking training across multiple cloud providers should consider a broader platform. Choose AWS Skill Builder for AWS-centered certification preparation, labs, and learning paths; choose an alternative when multi-cloud coverage is essential.
