AvePDF review
A broad web-based PDF toolkit for users who need merging alongside compression and conversion.

AvePDF is a browser-based PDF and document-processing application for individuals and professionals. It covers PDF merging, splitting, editing, protection, compression, conversion, OCR, PDF/A validation, and electronic signatures. Users can upload files from device storage, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a URL, then process and download them online. Its broad toolset suits people who want a merger with additional document-processing capabilities rather than a narrowly focused PDF joining utility.
The plan structure provides a clear free entry point. AvePDF Free includes more than 50 document tools, two processing operations per six hours, a 128 MB maximum file size, and processing for up to 10 files at a time. AvePDF Premium adds unlimited document processing, a 512 MB maximum file size, support for up to 100 files per processing, early access to beta tools, no ads, and technical support. The service therefore fits occasional users on the free tier, while larger or more frequent workloads are directed toward Premium.
AvePDF’s strongest distinction is breadth around PDF processing. Compression includes regular compression and hyper-compression using Mixed Raster Content, while conversion supports more than 100 formats. OCR can create searchable PDFs, and PDF/A conversion and validation address document-archiving workflows. PassportPDF REST APIs extend the service beyond the browser, while Google Drive and Dropbox support common cloud-based file flows. Choose AvePDF if compression, conversion, OCR, cloud uploads, or API access matter alongside merging. Choose another option if offline desktop access is essential or if your needs are limited to simple PDF merging without broader processing tools.
