Audyssey MultEQ-X review
Detailed multichannel correction for Windows users with a compatible Audyssey AVR.

Audyssey MultEQ-X is a Windows desktop room-correction application for calibrating compatible Denon and Marantz AV receivers that include Audyssey MultEQ technology. It uses a connected microphone to measure individual speaker-channel responses, displays frequency-response data, adjusts subwoofer levels, and calculates room-equalization filters. The software suits home-theater owners who want detailed control over multichannel calibration rather than a receiver-only automatic process.
Its strongest capability is measurement and correction depth. Users can capture up to 32 microphone positions, inspect frequency responses for individual channels, and apply slow or super-slow averaging when adjusting subwoofer levels. A target-curve designer provides cutoff-mode controls, while manual overrides let users change automatically detected parameters. Configurable EQ frequency limits and filter settings add further control, and supported filter data from Room EQ Wizard can be imported. Calibration is then applied to a compatible network-connected AVR, with a virtual demonstration AVR available for exploring the workflow.
Pricing is a single $199.99 USD license. The license calibrates one compatible AVR for that receiver’s lifetime, is associated with the user and AVR serial number, and is non-transferable. That structure fits owners committed to one supported receiver, but it is less suitable for anyone expecting to move a license between hardware or use another operating system. Choose MultEQ-X if you have a compatible Audyssey-equipped Denon or Marantz AVR and want per-channel measurements, custom targets, and manual overrides. Consider another room-correction option if your receiver is unsupported, your computer runs something other than Windows, or you need a transferable license.
