AudioNote review
A focused note-taking app for linking audio to written, drawn, and visual notes.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
AudioNote combines voice recording with a linked notepad for students, meetings, interviews, lectures, and other structured note-taking tasks. Notes can be typed, handwritten, drawn, photographed, or marked with a highlighter, then connected to specific points in an audio recording. During playback, notes highlight and scroll, while selecting a note can take the listener directly to its associated audio. Folder-based organization supports ongoing collections of recordings and notes.
The product’s strongest fit is synchronized navigation between audio and notes. Users can adjust playback speed with pitch correction, trim audio, and take notes on PDF slides on iPad. This makes AudioNote suited to lectures, interviews, and meetings where the value lies in connecting a written observation to the exact moment it was recorded. Its note formats also give users more flexibility than a voice recorder with plain text alone, although the product does not include transcription or AI features.
AudioNote is available for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, with sharing through iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Wi-Fi, and iTunes File Sharing. The product uses a paid model and does not offer a free plan, so it is a better fit for buyers who specifically want synchronized audio and handwritten or visual notes than for people seeking a low-commitment recorder. Choose AudioNote for linked, multimodal note-taking and playback control; choose an alternative if automatic transcription, AI assistance, or broad PDF support beyond iPad is central to the workflow.
