aTube Catcher review
A desktop media toolkit with downloads, recording, conversion, and one-time licenses.

aTube Catcher is a desktop multimedia utility for downloading videos from thousands of video-sharing and social websites. It also handles playlist and batch downloads, subtitle and closed-caption downloads, audio extraction, screen and audio recording, media conversion, and library organization. Windows, macOS, and Linux versions are listed, making it suited to solo users and small teams that want one desktop application for collecting, transforming, and managing media rather than a downloader alone.
The pricing structure separates core functionality from licensing extras. The free Community edition supports single-video downloads up to 1080p, MP3 extraction, subtitle downloads, a basic screen and audio recorder, a multi-format converter, and UPnP/DLNA casting. Pro costs $19.95 as a one-time purchase and adds an official direct installer, silent in-app updates, code-signed macOS and Windows builds, one personal-use key across machines, and no upgrade prompts or download telemetry. The $49 Lifetime plan adds lifetime updates, priority email support, a transferable key, and beta channel access. A 30-day refund period is also provided.
Its breadth is the main reason to consider it: supported output includes formats such as MP4, MP3, AVI, MKV, MOV, FLAC, WAV, GIF, and others, while the product supports AirPlay, UPnP/DLNA, and Telegram. The media library includes search, filters, and preview, and the product listing includes quality up to 8K. The trade-off is focus: it is desktop software, and the Community tier is centered on single-video downloads up to 1080p. Choose aTube Catcher if downloading, recording, conversion, subtitles, and casting belong in the same workflow. Choose an alternative if you need a mobile or browser-first tool.
