Asset Forge is a desktop tool for creating 3D models and 2D sprites by assembling pre-made blocks. It is aimed at game developers and creators working with Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot who want to build assets quickly without starting from fully modeled geometry. Blocks can be positioned, rotated, mirrored, resized, colored, textured, and combined into custom collections. The workflow is focused on reusable parts rather than general-purpose 3D modeling.

Pricing is straightforward and paid upfront. The Standard plan costs $19.95 one time and includes all features, free updates for all platforms, and DRM-free access. The Deluxe plan costs $39.95 one time and adds 10% additional blocks while retaining the same all-features, updates, and DRM-free benefits. Both plans support the core modeling, sprite-rendering, export, custom-block, and Lua-scripting capabilities. There is no free plan, but the one-time pricing keeps the entry cost below many broader modeling tools.

Asset Forge’s strongest fit is a narrow, game-oriented production workflow. It exports models in OBJ, FBX, DAE, STL, and glTF formats, renders models as 2D sprites, batch-exports sprites in multiple directions, and supports Lua scripts for procedural model creation and actions. It runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS, although macOS receives no future updates or support. Choose it for fast block-based assets, sprite sheets, and engine-ready exports; choose a broader 3D modeling application when you need modeling beyond its block-based approach.

  • Where it doesn't
    • No free plan is available
    • Narrower than full 3D modeling software
    • macOS receives no future updates or support
