Asprise OCR SDK review
A desktop OCR SDK with table extraction, barcode support, and structured XML output.

Asprise OCR SDK is a royalty-free development kit for applications that need on-premises text and barcode recognition. It supports Java, C#, VB.NET, Python, C/C++, and Delphi Pascal, with deployments for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The SDK processes image and PDF files, then produces text, XML, PDF, searchable PDF, PDF/A, or RTF output. It is a strong fit for developers building document-processing software that needs table structure, barcode data, coordinates, or confidence values rather than plain extracted text alone.
The paid plans are differentiated by file support, barcode coverage, operating-system limits, and processing capacity. Lite recognizes text from BMP, GIF, PNG, JPG, and TIFF files, returns text, XML, or PDF, and includes 1D barcode recognition, but it does not accept PDF input. STD adds PDF input, JPEG support, selected 2D barcodes, and support for up to four operating systems. ENT retains the broader input support, adds 1D and 2D barcode recognition, and includes multi-threading. The published pricing structure uses one-time totals, while single-developer licenses require a minimum quantity of two.
Its standout capability is structured document extraction: XML can include text coordinates, confidence data, barcode details, and table information. That makes the SDK suitable for workflows that need to map content back to page regions or interpret rows, columns, and cells. Multiple-language recognition, searchable PDF generation, and barcode formats such as QR, DataMatrix, Aztec, and PDF417 broaden its document-processing scope. Choose Asprise when an application needs an embeddable desktop SDK with tables and local processing. Choose another option when a free tier, a hosted API platform, or broader cloud ecosystem coverage is central to the project.
