ArtRage Vitae is digital painting software for artists, illustrators, students, and hobbyists who want a traditional-media approach on desktop or mobile. Its toolset covers oils, watercolors, pencils, pastels, airbrushes, palette knives, paint rollers, paint tubes, ink, chalk, and other media. Real-color blending, canvas texture adjustment, tracing images, and reference images support illustration-focused workflows, while layers, groups, blend modes, and layer effects provide control over more structured compositions.

The published plans are split by device. The Desktop plan is a one-time $80 purchase for Windows and macOS, with natural painting tools, layers and blend modes, filters and scripting, and PaintLink collaborative painting. The Mobile plan costs $4.99 one time for iOS and Android, adding tracing and reference images plus Apple Pencil and Samsung S-Pen support. There is no free plan. Pricing is straightforward for buyers who prefer a perpetual purchase, though the desktop edition represents the larger upfront commitment.

ArtRage Vitae extends beyond basic brush simulation with PSD import and export using layers and groups, selection and text tools, cloner and color sampler tools, warp and blur filters, color adjustments, noise and matte removal, scripting, and recordable actions. Those capabilities make it a strong fit for natural-media illustration and digital painting, especially when file exchange with PSD-based workflows matters. It is less suitable for buyers seeking a broad graphic-design platform centered on verified design-system integrations or a wider software ecosystem. Choose it for painting depth and cross-device availability; consider an alternative if free access or integration breadth is the priority.
