Arcadina is a hosted web platform for professional photographers and videographers who want to bring their public website, client delivery, commerce, and business administration into one service. Its website and blog tools support unlimited pages and photos, custom domains, password-protected pages, free SSL, watermarks, and image-protection features. The platform is suited to independent photographers and small photography businesses managing client galleries, photo selection, downloads, bookings, and sales from a shared workspace.

Pricing is split between the Professional website plan and plans focused on client delivery and sales. Professional costs $8 per month with annual billing or $9 per month with monthly billing, and includes 10 GB of storage. Aperture costs €10 per month with annual billing and adds client, proofing, and direct-download galleries, print sales, and 30 GB of storage. Exposure and Focus retain those gallery, proofing, download, and print-sales capabilities with 100 GB and 300 GB of storage respectively. Arcadina also provides a 14-day trial, but there is no free plan.

The strongest case for Arcadina is breadth. Alongside galleries and proofing with favorites selection, it includes online booking with payments, inquiry forms, contracts, signatures, billing, quotes, and online stores. Integrations cover Adobe Lightroom, Instagram, Google Reviews, WhatsApp Business, Google Analytics, YouTube, Vimeo, PayPal, Stripe, Bizum, and Redsys POS. The trade-off is scope: photographers seeking only a simple portfolio site may not need its delivery, commerce, and administration tools, while businesses that want these functions together have a clearer fit. Arcadina was founded in 2002 and is available on the web.

Arcadina pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Combines websites, galleries, proofing, downloads, and print sales
    • Adds bookings, contracts, billing, quotes, and online stores
    • Supports Lightroom, Instagram, WhatsApp, Stripe, PayPal, and more
  • Where it doesn't
    • No free plan is available
    • The service is web-based rather than offered as a listed native app
    • The broad feature set may exceed the needs of portfolio-only users
