Apple Pages combines word processing and page-layout tools for reports, resumes, books, posters, and other documents. It suits Apple users who want polished templates, flexible formatting, and support for both writing and visual document design. Pages is available on macOS, iOS, the web, and Windows through iCloud, while Apple Pencil supports handwriting, drawing, and annotation on iPad. The free plan includes document creation, viewing, editing, and real-time collaboration without a subscription.

Its feature set covers everyday writing and more structured document work. Users can add footnotes, endnotes, tables, charts, and tables of contents, then review work with comments, threaded conversations, and tracked changes that can be accepted or rejected. Offline editing is supported, with automatic upload when the device reconnects. Pages can import and edit Microsoft Word and text files and export to PDF, Microsoft Word, EPUB, RTF, and TXT. Integrations with iCloud, Box, EndNote, Apple Books, Contacts, and Numbers support an Apple-centered workflow.

According to the published plans, Pages itself is free. Apple Creator Studio is an optional $12.99-per-month subscription that adds premium content and intelligence features for Pages. Apple documents a 2 GB collaboration limit, increasing to 4 GB for Apple Creator Studio subscribers. Pages is a strong choice for Apple users who need layout control, offline access, review tools, and broad export options without paying for core editing. Users who need a Linux or Android platform, or whose collaboration needs exceed the documented limits, should consider an alternative with wider platform coverage.
