Amp Locker is Audio Assault’s guitar amp simulation environment for musicians, producers, and recording engineers who want virtual amplifiers, pedals, rack effects, cabinets, and microphone positioning in one software suite. It runs as a standalone application or DAW plug-in and supports Windows, macOS, and Linux. The software also includes double-tracking emulation, MIDI support, DSP and AI amp profile players, and downloadable free gear.

The pricing structure starts with a Free plan that includes Amp Locker free gear, the Prestige 1950 amp, 7 FX pedals, 7 rack FX, and 11 3D cabs with 11 mics. The Subscription plan adds all Amp Locker and Mix Locker modules, 111 amp models, 74 pedals, the standalone app, and an IR loader. The Insanity - Ultimate Bundle includes over 359 products and lets buyers own the products outright, with extra cabs, drums, profiles, and snapshots. Individual modules are also sold separately, giving buyers several ways to expand beyond the free gear.

Its strongest fit is for users who want breadth and detailed signal-chain control across desktop operating systems. Adjustable 3D cabinets and movable microphones support more detailed cabinet shaping, while third-party impulse-response loading expands cabinet options beyond the included collection. The main trade-off is that the Subscription plan excludes 3D cab add-on packs and certain signature amp simulations, and Linux compatibility can vary by distribution. Pick Amp Locker for a feature-rich standalone and plug-in workflow with broad amp and effects coverage; choose an alternative if those excluded modules or more predictable Linux support are essential.
