Alibaba Cloud Live Streaming, documented as ApsaraVideo Live, is cloud infrastructure for ingesting, processing, distributing, and playing live audio and video. It is aimed at developers, media businesses, broadcasters, event producers, and mid-market or enterprise teams that need programmable streaming capabilities. The service supports standard live streaming and ultra-low-latency Real-Time Streaming across web, iOS, Android, and API environments, with cloud and mobile deployment options.
Its strongest case is breadth. The platform combines live ingest and playback with recording, transcoding, forwarding to third-party platforms, playlist-based live channels, and browser-based cloud production with overlays and captions. It also includes content moderation, access controls, real-time monitoring, operations analytics, interactive messaging, and comments. For Alibaba Cloud environments, integrations with ECS, OSS, ApsaraVideo VOD, and Alibaba Cloud security services provide a connected infrastructure path. Multistreaming, prerecorded streaming, 24/7 looping, custom RTMP, and cloud recording are also supported.
Pricing is usage-based rather than organized around a conventional monthly subscription. The published plans include pay-as-you-go live traffic, billed for downstream live-stream traffic with regional pricing; pay-as-you-go standard transcoding for 480P and lower H.264 transcoding, also with regional pricing; and a monthly recording service based on the peak number of daily concurrent recordings. Container format conversion is charged separately. Choose Alibaba Cloud Live Streaming when you need a broad, programmable service and already align with Alibaba Cloud infrastructure. Teams seeking simple fixed-price streaming software or a narrower creator-oriented workflow may prefer a different product.
