Alertus Unified Mass Notification is an emergency communications platform for organizations coordinating alerts across facilities, networks, desktop computers, mobile devices, phones, signage, speakers, and other endpoints. It is positioned for higher education, K–12 schools, healthcare, government, commercial, industrial, military, and transportation organizations. Deployments can be on premises or cloud hosted, with personal notification capabilities provided through AlertAware.

The platform’s main strength is its breadth of targeting and infrastructure support. Administrators can activate alerts from the Alertus Console, panic buttons, desktop activators, phones, and mobile apps, then direct them by location, device, role, directory group, or subscribed mobile-app list. Notifications can appear full-screen, partially screened, as tickers, on lock screens, or at login. Integrations include Active Directory, LDAP, CAP, IPAWS, RSS, NOAA, AccuWeather, digital signage, VoIP phones, public-address systems, fire alarm panels, IP speakers, two-way radios, Microsoft Teams, and other connected systems through the open API. Automated activation from feeds can also support recurring operational workflows.

Alertus goes beyond one-way broadcasting with two-way messaging, incident reporting, photo uploads, location tracking, recipient acknowledgements, device status, health reports, alert histories, and event dashboards. That combination suits organizations that need accountability as well as rapid distribution. Pricing uses a contact-sales model, and there is no free plan. SMS and email delivery depend on integrations or connected services, while Alertus provides desktop, mobile, voice-call, and public-address pathways across web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, API, self-hosted, and cloud deployment options. Choose Alertus when varied endpoints, targeted activation, and response tracking matter; smaller teams seeking a simpler alerting workflow may prefer a narrower tool.
