Acquia DAM (Widen) is a web-based digital asset management platform for mid-market and enterprise organizations. It centralizes images, videos, documents, audio, PDFs, brand guidelines, and work-in-progress files, then adds metadata schemas, custom fields, version control, approvals, sharing, and reporting. Teams that need controlled distribution can use branded portals, public or access-code sharing, and share links. Access is available through web, iOS, Android, and API channels, making the product suited to organizations managing content across departments, external audiences, and connected systems.

The three published tiers are Workgroup, Mid-Market, and Enterprise. Workgroup is positioned for teams moving from shared drives to a DAM and includes AI Search, AI Tagging, an AI knowledge base, and standard portals for non-users. Mid-Market is designed for organization-wide adoption and adds SAML/SSO to the same listed AI capabilities. Enterprise targets large-scale content operations and also includes SAML/SSO. Pricing uses a contact-sales model, and the commercial path includes a guided demo rather than a self-serve free trial. This structure fits teams that need a tailored rollout, but it gives smaller buyers less pricing clarity before engaging sales.

Acquia DAM’s strongest case is its breadth across the asset lifecycle. Search supports keyword, advanced, faceted, predictive, and natural-language methods, while AI can assist with tagging, duplicate detection, transcription, and descriptions. Configurable multi-stage approval workflows and online proofing support review-heavy teams, and image, video, and audio transformations help prepare content for distribution. Integrations include Adobe Creative Cloud, Drupal, Shopify, Salesforce, and Workfront, with a REST API supporting OAuth 2.0, webhooks, and SDKs. Choose it when portals, analytics, governance, and system connections matter together; consider a narrower DAM when those requirements are unnecessary.
