100ms provides developer infrastructure for embedding real-time video conferencing, interactive live streaming, audio-video rooms, and related workflows in web and mobile applications. It is suited to products in education, fitness, telehealth, virtual events, commerce, and video KYC that need both live and recorded video capabilities. The platform supports WebRTC conferencing, HLS streaming, prebuilt interfaces, custom interfaces, mobile and web SDKs, chat, recording, transcription, and server-side APIs. It is not open source, so teams looking for a ready-made open-source video stack should consider a different approach.

Pricing combines a free monthly allocation with usage-based billing. The Free plan includes 10,000 conferencing minutes, 10,000 streaming minutes, 1,000 encoding minutes, 300 recording minutes, 300 post-call transcription minutes, and 300 AI-generated summary minutes per month. Pay-As-You-Grow starts at $0.0012 per viewer per minute for live streaming after included minutes, while conferencing, encoding, recording, post-call transcription, and AI-generated summaries use separate rates. The Custom plan offers discounts for more than $5,000 of monthly usage, use-case-based discounts, and up to 50% discounted pricing for eligible Zoom migrations.

Its platform fit is broad: applications can use web, iOS, Android, or APIs, with custom client SDKs for web, Android, iOS, React Native, and Flutter. Teams can use customer cloud storage or 100ms-managed storage for recordings, then connect workflows through REST APIs and webhooks. Full-duplex audio/video group calls support up to 100 participants, while larger webinar and streaming audiences use different modes. Choose 100ms when one video layer must cover conferencing, live streaming, recording, and related workflows. Choose another option when open-source software or a simpler, narrowly focused video feature is the priority.
