Priya Saiprasad is the co-founder and general partner of Touring Capital, an investment firm focused on AI software. Her career spans venture investing, enterprise technology and M&A, and her public conversations explore founder-first investing, AI-era company building and the realities of a career in venture. Who is Priya Saiprasad?
Touring Capital identifies Saiprasad as its co-founder and general partner. The firm says she founded it after 13 years in venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise technology. Her work has included investing in companies at multiple stages and evaluating software businesses from both an investor’s and an acquirer’s perspective.
Before Touring Capital, Saiprasad was a partner at SoftBank Vision Fund, where she led investments including Pixis, Vendr, Observe.ai, CommerceIQ, Sendoso and Skedulo. Earlier, she worked at Mayfield Fund and was a founding member of M12, Microsoft’s venture fund. At M12, she led investments including Go1, Workboard, PandaDoc, Element AI and Bonsai. Before moving into venture, she was a deal lead on Square’s M&A team, working on acquisitions involving software and machine learning. Touring Capital’s biography also says she earned a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley Haas and was named to Forbes’ 2018 30 Under 30 list for venture capital.
What is Touring Capital’s focus?
Touring Capital describes its sector as AI software and says it invests in software companies that use AI to supercharge the workforce. Its stated operating pillars are “Authentic Intelligence,” “Extend Possibilities” and “Steadfast Excellence.” Those phrases reflect the firm’s own positioning, rather than an independent assessment of its investment results. Saiprasad’s role and the firm’s stated focus are listed on Touring Capital’s website.

What does Saiprasad say about founder-first investing?
In a Fall 2023 profile, UC Berkeley Haas quoted Saiprasad describing her interest in addressing systemic bias in venture, building a founder-first firm and using AI advances in the next generation of software productivity. The profile also attributes this practical test of founder-friendly behavior to her: “You know if a VC is founder-friendly based on how they react when times get tough in the company.” The emphasis is on conduct during difficult periods, not simply on an investor’s stated values. The Haas profile also quotes her view that AI’s decade-long advances were nearing a point of broad adoption and scale.
The same profile notes that Saiprasad lived in 12 countries as a child and quotes her describing the diverse perspectives she brings to investing. The biography provides context for her stated interest in perspective and systemic bias, but does not by itself establish how those ideas shape any particular investment decision.
