PrivadoVPN Free gives you 10 GB of data every 30 days and permits one active connection at a time, according to the provider’s support documentation. Premium removes the data cap, supports up to 10 simultaneous connections and adds more server locations and features. The practical choice is between a limited no-cost plan for occasional use on one device and paid access for heavier use or multiple devices.
What is the difference between the free and paid VPN plans?
The main differences are the amount of data you can use, how many devices can connect at once, location access and the extra tools included. PrivadoVPN Support’s answer to “What is the difference between the free and paid VPN plans?” was published on June 26, 2023. Its documented limits are useful, but the provider’s pages do not describe every plan detail consistently, so check the current terms shown in your account or at checkout.
| Plan detail | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Data | 10 GB every 30 days; unused data does not roll over, according to the June 26, 2023 support article. | Unlimited, according to the support article. |
| After the Free allowance | Speed is limited to 1 Mbps until the next traffic renewal date, according to the June 26, 2023 support article. | Unlimited data and speed, according to the support article. |
| Server locations | 12 cities, according to the support article. | 63 cities, according to the support article. A March 26, 2025 comparison article instead says 67 cities. |
| Simultaneous connections | One at a time, according to the support article and download page. | Up to 10, according to the support article. |
| Features listed by support | Core VPN service, zero-log claim and protocol options. | Streaming support, SOCKS5, ad blocker, parental controls and threat prevention, in addition to the core service. |
The support article says Free speeds fall to 1 Mbps after the allowance is used, while the Free marketing page uses “unlimited speeds” wording. Read the specific post-quota limit as the dated documented term, not as a guarantee of current performance. Feature availability and location counts can change across apps and plan versions.
How much can you use on the Free plan?
Free provides 10 GB for each 30-day period, rather than unlimited use. PrivadoVPN Support’s June 26, 2023 article says unused traffic does not accrue, so unused data will not build up into a larger allowance for a later period. Once the allowance is exhausted, that article says the connection speed is limited to 1 Mbps until the next traffic renewal date.

- 【Five Gigabit Ports】1 Gigabit WAN Port plus 2 Gigabit WAN/LAN Ports plus 2 Gigabit LAN Port. Up to 3 WAN ports optimize bandwidth usage through one device.
- 【One USB WAN Port】Mobile broadband via 4G/3G modem is supported for WAN backup by connecting to the USB port. For complete list of compatible 4G/3G modems, please visit TP-Link website.
- 【Abundant Security Features】Advanced firewall policies, DoS defense, IP/MAC/URL filtering, speed test and more security functions protect your network and data.
- 【Highly Secure VPN】Supports up to 20× LAN-to-LAN IPsec, 16× OpenVPN, 16× L2TP, and 16× PPTP VPN connections.
- Security - SPI Firewall, VPN Pass through, FTP/H.323/PPTP/SIP/IPsec ALG, DoS Defence, Ping of Death and Local Management. Standards and Protocols IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3x, IEEE 802.1q
That makes Free most suitable for occasional VPN use when your traffic stays within the allowance. If you use a VPN regularly for video, large downloads or other data-intensive activity, the cap and post-quota speed limit are likely to matter more than the fact that the plan has no subscription price.
Can you use Free on more than one device?
You may install the app on several devices, but PrivadoVPN Support and its download documentation specify one Free connection at a time. The Free marketing page’s “unlimited devices” wording can be mistaken for unlimited concurrent use; the support terms distinguish device installs from active connections. Premium supports up to 10 simultaneous connections, according to the support article.

What does Premium add?
Premium’s clearest benefits are unlimited data, more simultaneous connections and broader location access. The support article lists 63 Premium cities, while PrivadoVPN’s March 26, 2025 comparison article lists 67. Because the provider’s published counts differ, treat them as source- and date-specific rather than a guaranteed current inventory.
Recommended Free Tools
The support article also lists streaming support, SOCKS5, an ad blocker, parental controls and threat prevention for Premium. These are specific added tools and capabilities, not proof that Premium is categorically “more secure.” The same support article describes Free as including a zero-log policy and protocol options. PrivadoVPN’s no-log statement is the provider’s own claim; the cited material does not establish an independent audit.

- Choose Free if you want a no-cost option, can stay within 10 GB per 30 days and only need one active connection at a time.
- Consider Premium if you regularly exceed the allowance, want to avoid the documented post-quota limit, need several devices connected concurrently or want the additional features listed by support.
- Check current plan details first if a particular server location or feature is essential, because the provider’s published location counts and marketing language differ from its support documentation.
