To install Webuzo, first use your hosting provider’s control panel or documented procedure to reinstall the server with a supported Linux operating system. Then connect over SSH and run Webuzo’s installer. Reimaging is destructive: back up anything you need and confirm with your provider what the reinstall removes before you start. Webuzo does not provide one universal reimage procedure because the steps and data-retention rules depend on the server provider.
Before you reimage the server
Reimaging replaces or reinstalls the server’s operating system. The exact action may be called “reinstall,” “rebuild,” or “deploy image” by your provider. Use that provider’s instructions rather than treating Webuzo’s installation script as a reimage tool.
- Back up any files, databases, configuration, or other data you need to keep, and verify that the backup is usable.
- Check the provider’s documentation for what the reinstall deletes, whether it changes the server’s IP address, and how to regain SSH access afterward.
- Confirm the selected Linux image against Webuzo’s current installation-specific documentation before committing to the reinstall.
Choose a Linux image Webuzo supports
Webuzo’s official requirements page and its v4 installation guide do not list exactly the same operating systems and versions. The requirements page lists CentOS 7.x/8.x, AlmaLinux 8.x/9.x/10.x, Ubuntu LTS 18.04/20.04/22.04/24.04/26.04, RHEL 7.x/8.x, Scientific Linux 7.x/8.x, Rocky Linux 8.x, and CloudLinux 7.x/8.x/9.x. The v4 install guide lists Rocky Linux 8.x/9.x/10.x and CloudLinux 8.x/9.x, alongside several overlapping choices. Webuzo does not explain the differences between the two lists, so check the installation guide for your chosen image and confirm support with Webuzo if the version is unclear.

Check server resources and prerequisites
Webuzo’s installation documentation specifies a minimum of 1 GB RAM and 5 GB disk space, and recommends 2 GB RAM and 10 GB disk space. It also says PHP, Apache, and MySQL should not already be installed, requires SELinux to be disabled, and lists required package utilities in the install guide. Review that guide for the current package list and confirm the fresh OS image meets the requirements before running the installer.
Webuzo recommends keeping ports 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 21, 22, 25, 53, 80, 110, 143, 443, 465, 993, 995, 587, and 3306 open. Do not open every port automatically: check your provider firewall and security policy, then allow the ports required by the panel and the services you plan to use.
Install Webuzo over SSH
After the provider has finished reinstalling the operating system, connect to the server through SSH with an account that can run the installation commands. Webuzo’s documented commands are:

The default command installs Webuzo with the LAMP stack, DNS server, and FTP server. To install Webuzo without installing applications initially, use ./install.sh --install=none. The guide also supports naming selected applications with the --install=... option. Check the installation guide for the available selections. Installation output is logged at /root/webuzo-install.log.

When installation finishes, follow Webuzo’s initial configuration instructions. Review the panel settings, enter the server’s valid IP address and hostname, and configure primary and secondary nameservers that point to the server.
- Admin panel:

Replace Your-IP with the server’s actual address. If the panel does not load, check that installation completed, the address is correct, and the relevant port is allowed by the provider firewall and server security rules.

For providers building a reusable OS template
A reusable template is a separate workflow from reimaging one server for your own use. Webuzo instructs providers to install on a fresh OS, skip the installation guide’s initial setup, and create /var/webuzo/reconfigure before packaging the image. This lets the template be reconfigured when deployed; it is not a substitute for the hosting provider’s OS reinstall procedure.
