NVIDIA has not announced another stock split. As of October 12, 2026, the company’s latest documented split remains its 10-for-1 forward split in June 2024. NVIDIA has published no schedule, share-price trigger, or formula for a future split, so an exact date or ratio would be speculation. NVIDIA’s investor resources and its filings are the places to check for an official announcement.
What is the prediction for NVIDIA’s next stock split?
The evidence supports a cautious forecast, not a date: NVIDIA could split its stock again if its board decides a lower nominal share price would make ownership more accessible, but there is no reliable basis in the company’s published materials to say when that might happen or what ratio it would use.
NVIDIA’s stated reason for its 2024 split was to make ownership more accessible to employees and investors after significant share-price appreciation. That explains the company’s decision at the time; it does not establish a price threshold or promise another split. The official 2024 stock-split FAQ provides the rationale but no automatic trigger.
What happened in NVIDIA’s previous stock splits?
| Action | Ratio and mechanics | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 forward split | 10-for-1: each share held became ten shares, with nine additional shares distributed per share. | Announced in May 2024; additional shares were distributed after market close June 7, and split-adjusted trading began June 10, 2024. |
| 2021 forward split | 4-for-1: each share became four shares, with three additional shares per share held. | Announced in May 2021, subject to stockholder approval; split-adjusted trading was expected to begin July 20, 2021. |
The 2021 and 2024 actions show that NVIDIA has split its stock more than once, but two historical examples do not establish a repeating cadence or a predictable ratio. See the company’s 2021 stock-split FAQ and 2021 announcement for the earlier action.

What a future split would—and would not—change
A forward split changes the number of shares and the nominal price per share, not the company’s value by itself. For example, in a hypothetical 4-for-1 split, an investor with one share would have four shares, and the split-adjusted per-share price would be one-quarter of the prior price, all else equal. In a hypothetical 10-for-1 split, the share count would multiply by ten and the per-share price would be one-tenth, all else equal. In either case, the holder’s proportional ownership and aggregate share value are unchanged solely by the split.
NVIDIA said in its 2024 FAQ that the split would not change the total value of a holder’s shares or dilute that holder’s proportionate interest. Market prices can still rise or fall for other reasons; a split itself neither creates value nor predicts investment returns.

The split-related June 7, 2024 Form 8-K records an increase in authorized common shares from 8.0 billion to 80.0 billion as part of the charter amendment. Authorized shares are the maximum number the company is permitted to issue under its charter; that figure is not the same as shares outstanding, nor does the increase by itself mean existing holders were diluted.
How to tell an official announcement from a prediction
A specific date or ratio should be treated as confirmed only when NVIDIA announces the action or an applicable filing documents it. A commentary article, price-based forecast, or social-media post is not evidence that a split has been approved. When checking a claim, look for the announcement, ratio, approval conditions, record or distribution details, and the date split-adjusted trading is scheduled to begin.

- Review the company’s SEC filings page for relevant filings. Filing lists change over time, so confirm the latest available information rather than relying on an old snapshot.
- Compare any reported dates and ratio with the company’s own announcement or filing; until then, label them as speculation.
What shareholders should know about split logistics
For the completed 2024 split, NVIDIA said brokers would adjust accounts and that additional shares were expected to be visible by June 10. It advised investors to contact their broker if shares were delayed. The company also said it would not issue fractional shares in connection with that split and advised holders of fractional shares to consult their brokerage. These were terms for the 2024 action and do not establish how a hypothetical future split would be handled.
NVIDIA’s 2024 FAQ said the company could not provide tax advice and directed stockholders to a tax adviser for individual circumstances. Tax treatment can depend on jurisdiction and personal facts; consult a qualified professional for guidance relevant to you.
