Ein Präsenzsensor kann Home Assistant mitteilen, ob ein Raum belegt ist, damit Automationen etwa Licht nur bei Nutzung einschalten oder nach dem Verlassen ausschalten. Das kann unnötige Laufzeit verringern, garantiert aber keine bestimmte Energieeinsparung: Home Assistant dokumentiert die Automationslogik und eine Methode zur Messung, nicht eine Einsparquote. Raumbelegung ist außerdem etwas anderes als die Frage, ob eine Person zu Hause ist.
Raumbelegung ist nicht dasselbe wie Heimanwesenheit
Ein Raumbelegungssensor meldet, ob er in seinem überwachten Bereich Belegung erkennt. Home Assistant kann dafür Binary-Sensoren mit der Geräteklasse occupancy in der Occupancy-Integration verwenden. Die Integration stellt Automations-Trigger für erkannte und beendete Belegung sowie Bedingungen für erkannte beziehungsweise nicht erkannte Belegung bereit.
Heimanwesenheit beschreibt dagegen, ob eine Person an einem Standort oder in einer Zone ist. Dafür dokumentiert Home Assistant Geräte-Tracker, etwa Smartphone- und routerbasierte Tracker. Tracker lassen sich einer Person zuordnen und kombinieren, um einen gemeinsamen Anwesenheitsstatus abzubilden. Ein Sensor, der ein Zimmer als belegt meldet, sagt für sich genommen nicht, wer dort ist oder ob jemand zu Hause ist.

Auch Bewegung und Belegung sind nicht automatisch gleichbedeutend. Die LD2410-BLE-Integration stellt separate Entitäten für Bewegung und Belegung bereit. Welche Zustände ein anderes Modell meldet und wie es sich bei ruhigen Personen verhält, muss anhand seiner konkreten Dokumentation geprüft werden.

LD2410 BLE: passend für DIY-Setups
Home Assistant dokumentiert die LD2410-BLE-Integration und empfiehlt für die Bluetooth-Anbindung LD2410B oder LD2410C. Neben der Belegung können je nach Einrichtung zusätzliche Entitäten für Distanzen und Energie verfügbar sein; ein Teil davon ist standardmäßig ausgeblendet. Prüfe beim Kauf, ob Pinabstand und Verkabelung zur Platine passen. Die Dokumentation nennt Bareboard und Devkit, bestätigt aber keine Verfügbarkeit bei einem bestimmten Händler.

Aqara FP1E und FP300: Matter-Alternative
Home Assistant führt Aqara FP1E und FP300 als unterstützte Geräte auf. Die Aqara-Seite beschreibt Aqara-Matter-Geräte als lokal über die Matter-Integration angebunden. Daraus lässt sich nicht ableiten, dass jedes Modell dieselben Sensorwerte liefert oder dass für jedes Setup dieselbe Zusatzhardware nötig beziehungsweise nicht nötig ist.

Lege zunächst fest, welche Aktion der Sensor auslösen soll und welches Gerät Home Assistant dafür steuern kann. Ein Sensor schaltet Lampen, Heizung oder Klima nicht von selbst: Für solche Aktionen braucht es ein passendes steuerbares Gerät und eine Automation.

- Sensor integrieren: Richte das gewählte Gerät nach seiner Integration ein und prüfe in Home Assistant, welche Entitäten es tatsächlich bereitstellt. Verwende für die allgemeine Belegungslogik einen Binary-Sensor mit der Geräteklasse
occupancy, sofern das Gerät einen solchen bereitstellt. - Einschalten bei Belegung: Erstelle eine Automation mit dem Trigger „occupancy erkannt“. Als zusätzliche Bedingung kannst du etwa eine Tageszeit oder Helligkeit verwenden. Eine passende Helligkeitsentität ist durch die hier genannten Sensoren nicht garantiert; prüfe, ob dein Gerät oder ein separater Sensor sie bereitstellt.
- Ausschalten nach dem Verlassen: Nutze „occupancy cleared“ als Trigger. Eine Verzögerung oder zusätzliche Bedingung kann verhindern, dass eine kurze Erkennungslücke das Licht sofort ausschaltet. Die passende Wartezeit hängt vom Raum, Sensorverhalten und deinen Vorlieben ab; eine universell richtige Dauer gibt es nicht.
- Erst in einem Raum beobachten: Prüfe im normalen Alltag, ob Ein- und Ausschalten zum tatsächlichen Nutzungsverhalten passen. Passe anschließend Verzögerungen und Ausnahmen an, bevor du die Logik auf weitere Räume überträgst.
Dieselbe Belegungslogik kann auch andere Komfortaktionen anstoßen, sofern die Geräte und Automationen eingerichtet sind. So könnte eine Automation ein Raumgerät abhängig von Belegung steuern; das ist eine mögliche Konfiguration, keine garantierte Sensorfunktion.
Wie lässt sich eine mögliche Energieeinsparung messen?
Eine Automation kann unnötige Laufzeit reduzieren, wenn sie einen Verbraucher bei Nichtbelegung tatsächlich ausschaltet. Die angeführten Home-Assistant-Dokumentationen veröffentlichen jedoch weder eine allgemeine Einsparquote noch einen garantierten Geldbetrag für Präsenzsensoren. Ob sich der Verbrauch in deinem Haushalt ändert, musst du für den gesteuerten Verbraucher messen.

- Verbraucher festlegen: Bestimme genau, welches Gerät die Belegungsautomation steuert. So bleibt klar, welcher Verbrauch überhaupt verglichen werden soll.
- Messung einrichten: Erfasse Leistung oder Energie mit einem geeigneten, kompatiblen Messsensor. Prüfe, ob die Messwerte tatsächlich zu dem Verbraucher gehören, dessen Laufzeit die Automation beeinflusst.
- Vergleichszeiträume wählen: Vergleiche Zeiträume vor und nach der Automation mit möglichst ähnlicher Nutzung. Unterscheide, soweit möglich, den Einfluss von Wetter, Belegung, Tageslänge und geändertem Nutzerverhalten.
- Watt in kWh integrieren, falls nötig: Wenn dein Quellsensor Leistung in Watt liefert, kann Home Assistants Integral-Sensor die Messwerte über die Zeit zu Energie in kWh integrieren. Home Assistant weist darauf hin: „Source sensors with higher sampling frequency provide more accurate results.“ Die Integrationsgenauigkeit hängt damit auch von der Aktualisierungsfrequenz der Quelle ab.
Eine gemessene Veränderung ist zunächst das Ergebnis deines konkreten Vergleichs, keine allgemeingültige Wirkung von Präsenzsensoren. Für eine belastbare Einordnung müssen die Vergleichszeiträume und mögliche andere Veränderungen berücksichtigt werden.

Die Device-tracker-Dokumentation beschreibt, wie Tracker einer Person zugeordnet und kombiniert werden können. Nutze Raumbelegung, wenn eine Automation auf einen bestimmten Raum reagieren soll; nutze Personen- oder Zonenanwesenheit, wenn sie davon abhängt, ob eine Person zu Hause oder an einem bestimmten Ort ist. Beide Signale können in einer Automation gemeinsam verwendet werden, beantworten aber unterschiedliche Fragen.
